Kravica Waterfall
One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Kravica waterfall is located on the Trebižat River in the village of Studenci, municipality of Ljubuški. The waterfall is between 26 and 28 meters high and 120 meters wide. It was formed by a travertine barrier over which grass, moss, algae, and lichens have grown from the top to the bottom of the falls. Around the waterfall grow chaste trees, fig trees, and poplars. Numerous old stone mills along the Trebižat River stand today as reminders of past times, when they played an important role in the local economy.
The travertine areas surrounding Kravica Waterfall are considered geological natural monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the summer months, Kravica waterfall is a popular excursion and swimming destination where both locals and tourists come to cool off and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. There is also a restaurant near the waterfall where visitors can enjoy local cuisine with a view of Kravica.
An entrance fee is charged for visiting the waterfall, and the ticket also includes access to Koćuša Waterfall and the Humac Franciscan Museum. We recommend purchasing tickets online via the official website Kravica.ba to avoid waiting in line at the ticket office.
Koćuša waterfall
Koćuša is a waterfall on the Mlada river, which changes its name to the Trebižat river about 2 kilometers downstream. It is located near the village of Veljaci, in the municipality of Ljubuški.
Unlike most waterfalls, Koćuša is not known for its height, which is “only” five meters, but for its width – the waterfall stretches around fifty meters wide, contributing to its impressive overall appearance.
Compared to Kravica waterfall, Koćuša waterfall is less known and less visited by tourists. It is an ideal destination for visitors who wish to enjoy beautiful nature in a more intimate and peaceful atmosphere. During the summer months, the waterfall and its surroundings become a popular swimming and excursion area. Nearby, there is a restaurant where you can relax and enjoy a rich gastronomic offer with a view of this less commercial but equally charming waterfall.
